Some very sad news....

On Saturday the 30th of June I gave birth to a beautiful baby girl. Unfortunately our little angel was stillborn. We named her Olivia. She weighed only 3 pounds 1.5 ounces at 32+3 weeks.

Needless to say my husband and I are devastated. It has been a very difficult few days and I'm sure there are darker ones ahead. I know that through it all Eve's cheeky little smile will get me through. With that in mind, I plan to keep posting on this blog. I feel the need to share the joy of my two daughters. No doubt there will be more bumps in my future, and plenty of babes and I plan to share that with those who will have me.

I feel so proud that we made her. So proud of the fight she must have had. It was an honour to have given birth to her and she has changed me, irrevocably, for the better.

  4. Amy,

I'm so sorry to hear of your loss. I had sweaty eyes reading this post. My heart and prayers go out to your and your family. I pray you cling to each other, rest in each other & find the joy in the things around you...that being said, allow yourself to process this. I have a friend who had the same situation as you & she said the best thing she did was allow herself to feel the good & the bad so she could move forward in her life. They still celebrate Ruby & will love her forever. Big love to you, friend. Big love.

  23. I lost my son to stillbirth on June 29th, 25 years ago. My eyes are filling with tears at the thought of your empty arms, but your pride in Eve and Olivia shows that a mother's love goes on forever. While there are no words that can take away the pain, loss, and shock, please accept condolences from another bereaved mother.

I am a teacher and a mother of a two year boy and I'm in the final trimester of my second pregnancy. Your blog touched me as we have many things in common, we were even in lanzarote at the same time I think...
